I just tried out journaling with my 14-year-old daughter and I’m actually amazed—she really opened up! We did a shared journal (like, we each write back and forth in the same notebook) because sometimes talking face-to-face just ends in eye-rolling or silence.
Has anyone else tried something similar? What kinds of prompts or questions worked for you? Or if you’ve found other “less pressure, more connection” ways to communicate with your teen, please share! I feel like I’ve unlocked a new level and want to keep the momentum going.
