I have always heard this and I’m curious if it’s actually true or not. That grown-ups somehow can seem intimidating or scary to young kids?
For example I’ve heard even something like standing next to your child, picking them up, or giving them a hug could possibly be intimidating to them. I have even heard that even in something that the child wanted to do, like play fighting for example, can especially very quickly and easily become very intimidating for them when playing with the adult.
Is this true? And if so how is it true and what can we as parents do to take away the intimidation factor during the above examples? I would never want my little ones to be afraid of me or scared to play with me.
