Tried the steps in “Positive Discipline” for handling arguments over chores and screen time but the family meetings turned into power struggles instead of solutions. The book suggests natural consequences yet when I let a missed homework deadline play out it just created more stress the next morning without teaching anything new. Switched over to checking out “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk” for the feeling-validation parts which helped calm things down faster but still left the actual limit-setting vague. Not sure what other titles pair the two sides better.
