I’ve used the Chicco Next2Me with my newborn, and overall, I had a pretty positive experience with it. One of the major advantages was how close it allowed me to be to my baby during the night without having them in the same bed, which really eased nighttime feedings. It attaches to the bed quite easily, and you can adjust the height to match your mattress, which I found to be very practical for feeding and comforting.
The detachment process, while straightforward, can be a bit cumbersome if you need to move it around frequently, but I generally found it manageable. For travel, the co-sleeper is reasonably portable, though it’s definitely bulkier than a traditional portable crib. That said, it comes with a travel bag, which is a plus.
In terms of alternatives, you might consider the Halo Bassinest, which also offers easy access for nighttime feedings, or even the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper, as each has a slightly different setup and feature set.
If you're still unsure, I'd suggest testing the ease of setup and transportation at a store, if possible. How have others found mobility with these types of co-sleepers for frequent travel?
