Hi everyone,

I've been pondering how early I should start talking to my child about money and financial responsibility. My little one is 5, and I've noticed they're already asking questions about buying things and why we can't always get what we want. I'm looking for advice on age-appropriate ways to introduce the concept of money and saving. What are some effective strategies you've used to teach kids about managing money? Are there any games or activities that help make it fun and educational? Would love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have!

Thanks in advance!

Absolutely, starting early with teaching kids about money can build a strong foundation for their financial literacy. When my child was around that age, I started by introducing the concept of saving using a clear piggy bank so they could see their money grow. We played a simple "grocery store" game at home, using play money to practice buying and budgeting. It turned daily chores into a fun learning experience. I've also found that books like "A Chair for My Mother" by Vera B. Williams are excellent in illustrating the value of saving and working towards a goal. How about trying those methods? What have you found works well so far with your child?
